About

Jenny and Jason Gano:

Hi!  My name is Jenny and my husband’s name is Jason. We are both artists. We met while attending Otis College of Art and Design where we studied art. Current art displayed on this website is by Jenny Gano.  Jason is formulating ideas for narrative paintings pertaining to scriptures. Jenny is currently working on shapes and textures of trees in landscape paintings.

Jenny:  I feel it’s an honor to be able to work on and continue to strive to improve my painting skills.  Sometimes I wonder why I’m so fortunate to have the time and energy to study painting as well as money from my day job to be able to purchase art supplies. There’s an idea in America that we deserve this or that good thing.  I don’t know if people really do feel entitled to good things or if that’s just advertisers who say these things to try to promote products. In any case, I believe the reason I’m so fortunate to have time and art supplies to work with is because of the generous nature of God.

These days I’m trying to remember to talk to God about art. I’ve been asking Him what to paint and I’m trying to ask Him how to paint; what paintbrush to use and what to add when I”m mixing colors. It takes intention to think about talking to God while painting.  God has been trying to get my attention through scripture.  The Word, God’s Word, is alive and speaking every day.  Although I’m hard of hearing, in the spiritual sense, I hope to paint as God would direct me.
